Details

We love a new addition to the kitchen that wins at both form and function. Made with natural bamboo, sisal, and hemp, not only is this dish brush a win for zero plastic, it looks great by the sink too. Now, every time you wash the dishes, it's like entering a set for a home goods photo op. Scrub away.

Ingredients

100% plant-based and made from natural sisal, bamboo, and hemp with zero plastic or varnish.

How to Use

Give your dishes and things a new kind of clean. After using, run your fingers through the bristles to loosen, and rinse. Then give it a good shake and hang to air dry.

Recycling

Good news! The bamboo handle and replaceable dish brush head are home compostable.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

Ingredient Integrity

You can trace Sqwishful’s sponges to sustainably-grown wood pulp from the Pacific Northwest. They source from partners committed to recycling waste and utilizing hydroelectric power.

Low Carbon Footprint

Sqwishful partners with producers and manufacturers who offset their carbon production by planting trees. Their dedication to recyclable, compostable products and packaging keeps waste out of landfills, and the sustainable practices used by their partners are better for long-term plant growth.

Recyclable Packaging

Both their plastic-free, tree-free sugarcane packaging and plant-based sponges are home compostable (just cut the sponge up, and add it to your compost). You can also curbside recycle the wrapper, if you like.

How it does good

Research shows that, when it comes to bacteria, kitchen sponges are the germiest things in our houses, even dirtier than toilets. It's no wonder that trillions of sponges are tossed every year, but, when they're made of plastic and end up in landfills, this can be a big problem for the environment. Inspired to change her life by a medical diagnosis and the revelation that women with PCOS have greater amounts of BPA in their bodies, Sqwishful's founder aspires toward helping others live their lives plastic-free. Sqwishful sponges are made from plant ingredients, not plastic, and they're compressed and compostable for a small carbon footprint. They also use renewable resources and partner with suppliers using alternative energy sources.

Sqwishful

Sqwishful started with an optimist who loves to clean but hates that most cleaning products don't leave the world cleaner. Unlike conventional sponges, their sponges are plant-based and plastic-free. Working with suppliers who recycle sponge waste, use hydroelectric power, and plant trees to offset carbon, they’re proud to be in good company working toward making the world a cleaner, healthier, and happier place.
